Ida Sochor Feryance

Ida M. (Sochor) Feryance, 88, of Moneta, went home to be with the Lord Sunday June 12, 2011. She was born to the late John and Susie (Brtan) Sochor July 12, 1922 on the family farm in Center Township, Monaca, PA. She graduated from Monaca High School in 1940 and attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, MN from 1945 to 1946. She married Daniel Feryance June 22, 1946.

Ida was a 40 year missionary with Baptist Mid-Missions serving in Slovakia (1946-1949) and in France (1949-1986). She was a resident of Moneta since retiring in August 1986. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church, Blue Ridge, and Franklin Heights Baptist Church, Rocky Mount.

Ida enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, reading biographies, keeping up with current events, and staying in touch with her many friends in the US and abroad.

She is survived by her husband Daniel Feryance, son Daryl (daughter-in-law Debbie) Feryance of New Berlin, WI, daughter Rebecca Feryance of Paris, France, and grandchildren David Feryance, Daniel Feryance, and Laura (Feryance) Liechty of Wisconsin. Surviving siblings are John, Mary, Fred, Lydia, and Tom Sochor.

Visitation will be held at Franklin Heights Baptist Church, Rocky Mount, on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11 AM. The funeral service will be at 12 Noon at Franklin Heights Baptist Church with The Rev. Stan Parris, The Rev. Mark Griffith, and The Rev. Marvin Wegner officiating. Private family interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, VA.

Her children wish to express their thanks to Mary, Lydia and Tom Sochor, and the Franklin Heights church family for all their help and support.
