Irene Claytor Woodford

Thelma "Irene" Claytor Woodford, a resident of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2013.

Irene was born in Bedford Co., Va. on August 18, 1922, to Howard and Beatrice Julia Irene Smith Claytor.

She served as the Housekeeping Supervisor at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Assembly for many years and was a longtime member of Old Forest Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Earl Garnet Woodford, her parents, five brothers, Howard Berkley, Harold Thornton, William Henry, Thomas Alfred, Eugene Otey and one unnamed sister.

She is survived by her son Earl Wayne Woodford, his wife Penny, a grandson Christopher Wayne Woodford and his wife Angela, two great grandchildren, Fiona Allison and Emmett Sean Woodford of Richmond, Va. She is also survived by a daughter, Wanda Diane Woodford Pagnozzi and her husband Joseph Basil of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and a granddaughter, Cristina Renee Pagnozzi, of Orlando, Florida.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 PM, on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2013 in Tharp Funeral Home's Chapel with the Rev. Charles Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer\"™s Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
