Irene Guldan
Irene Guldan, 78, of Penhook died Thursday, February 10, 2011. She was born April 25, 1932, in Johnstown, PA, a daughter of the late Jesus Salazar and Maria Rangel Salazar.
She was a member of Christ Community Church in Penhook, where she was active in prayer and Bible study. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jozef Guldan, her brothers, Henry Salazar and Ralph Salazar, and her sisters, Dolores Brady and Jennie Maldonado.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Theresa Converse and her husband Charles of Penhook; two grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Converse; a great-granddaughter Abigail Converse; brothers, Guadalupe Salazar and George Salazar and his wife, Betsy, of Hancock, NH; sisters Lucy Swierski of Phoenix, AZ and Helen Zawadzki of Zephyr Hills, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Monday, February 28, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Christ Community Church with the Rev. Ed McClain officiating. Visitation immediately following the service. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Smith Mountain Lake, 540-721-937.
