Irvin Carroll Creasy, Sr.

Irvin Carroll \"Slick\" Creasy Sr., 72, of Lynchburg, VA, departed this life and went to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 23, 2012.

 Slick was born on April 28, 1940 in Bedford County, the son of the late Gillie Johnson Creasy and Rowena Miers Creasy.

 Slick was a hardworking man and didn\"™t mind working for his family. In his early years he worked with his brother building homes in the area. He also ran his parent\"™s dairy farm along with another brother for many years. He continued to build homes with Sidney B. Allen until he retired in 2011. He enjoyed woodworking, his weekly card game, gardening, visiting the flea market and stock market, restoring antique tractors and raising beef cattle.

 Slick is survived by his wonderful wife: Barbara Ann Phillips Creasy, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He also leaves to cherish his memory a son: Irvin Carroll Creasy, Jr. and his wife, Debbi Wilson Creasy of Lynchburg; a daughter: Sharon Gaile Creasy Garrett and her husband, Charles Conrad Garrett of Lynchburg; three grandchildren: Kris and Krissy Creasy, Samantha Garrett Baldwin and her husband, Michael Baldwin; Four great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Jonathon, Sarah and Savannah Baldwin. He is also survived by two brothers: Kenneth and Ray Creasy, one sister: Arlene Creasy Smith and many special friends, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 He was preceded in death by five brothers: Morris Creasy, Howard Creasy, Thomas \"Berkley\" Creasy, Wesley Creasy, Mack Creasy and two sisters:   Thelma Creasy Sexton and Vada Creasy Carter.

 The family will receive friends Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 1:00 \"" 3:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home with the funeral service to be conducted in the Chapel at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. Rob Coolwell officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.

 Memorial contributions may be made to Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
