Jack Donald French, 84, of Lynchburg, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014. He was the husband of the late Patricia D. French.
Jack was born March 6, 1929, to the late James B. and Grace M. French of Bluefield, West Virginia. He graduated from Beaver High School, attended Bluefield College, and joined the US Air Force (1950-1954), becoming a Staff Sergeant. Upon returning home, he finished up his schooling and graduated from Concord College with a Business Administration Degree. He was a sales rep for Nabisco Co. for 36 years, and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
He is survived by four children: Leigh Turner and fiancé, Russell Simmons, of Lynchburg; Lynn Scoville and husband, Joe, of Huddleston; Steve Rush and wife, Judy, of Bedford; and Phillip Bayliss; grandchildren: Chris Turner and wife, Pamela; Jason Turner; Allison & Jennifer Rush; Lauren Whistlehunt and husband Dustin, Cameron Scoville; Josh & Michael Bayliss; and one great granddaughter: Mackenzie Turner.
He is also survived by his sister in law, Betty French of Georgia; nephews Don French of Georgia, Jack Helm of Richmond, and David Helm of Florida nieces; Cindy Pullen and husband Mickey of Georgia, and Carrie Pullen of Florida, and great nephew Michael Pullen and wife JoAnne of Florida.
