Jackie Leroy Flurnoy, 69, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the Salem Veterans Hospital. He was born in Beckley, WV on July 10, 1950. A son of the late Edward Flurnoy and Dorothy Howerton Flurnoy. In addition to his parents Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Lee Miles Flurnoy. Jackie served his county in the United States Air Force. He loved his family especially his grandkids. Jackie received his associate degree in Culinary Arts. He always enjoyed preparing meals and loved cooking for his family. He was a lifelong member of the DAV of Roanoke and enjoyed history of our country, country music, traveling and working to provide for his family. He was loved by all that knew him and will be missed dearly.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jason Flurnoy and wife, Heather, Jonathan Flurnoy and wife, Hayleigh, Jessica Flurnoy, Stephanie Snider and husband, Claude, Kelly Crimmins and husband, PC; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special son, Richard Wilson; brother, Roger Flurnoy; sister, Carol Lane also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Jackie’s life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Roanoke with Pastor Mike Shaffer officiating.
