Jackie Triplett

Jackie \"Jack\" Garland Triplett, 61, of Rustburg, died August 3, 2010. He was the loving husband of Laura May Blankenship Triplett for 42 years.

Born November 24, 1948 in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Lawrence Triplett and Frances Shultz Triplett.

A strong man with a gentle heart. His signature and ethic was working hard and doing munificence for others; his blessing, the reward of their receiving.

The Creator has granted life as a gift. For me to hold on and grasp out and fear is to deny the gift and the Giver.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by a son, Jackie Garland Triplett, Jr. of Rustburg; two brothers: Rev. Ray Triplett and his wife, Norma Jean and Keith Triplett and his wife Martha all of Rustburg; a sister: Deborah Tysinger and her husband, Robert of South Boston and multiple nieces and nephews. His faithful companion, August Autumn, a beloved pet, chocolate Labrador.

\"Jack\" was employed by Consumers Dornin/Adams, Inc. and attended Christian Chapel and Thomas Road Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg from 7:00 \"" 8:30 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 9, 2010, in Christian Chapel, Holliday Street, with Pastor Ray Triplett and Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating, interment to follow in White\"™s United Methodist Cemetery. A reception will be held following the service at White\"™s United Methodist Church Fellowship.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Jonathan Falwell for his support during his illness.
