Jacoba Laneve

Jacoba Ann Young Laneve, 83, passed away on November 7, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. John F. Laneve, and her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Young.
She is survived by five children, and six grandchildren; son, John of Lynchburg, Va., daughter, Mary (Tom) Doyle and their children, Kellie, Casey, and Tommy of Richmond, Va., daughters, Natalie and Michele of Virginia Beach, Va., and son, James (Leigh Ann) and their children, Ashley, Samuel, and Jacob of Lynchburg, Va. She is also survived by her brother, Jacob Young of Morgantown, W.Va.
Joby was born in East Liverpool Ohio. She graduated from Wells High School in Newell, W. Va. She moved to Lynchburg in 1962 with her husband, John who was an optometrist. She worked at H.K. Porter, and Babcock & Wilcox. Joby was an avid Duke basketball fan, and enjoyed traveling to the beach for family vacations. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg.
A Celebration Mass of Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 15th at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be private.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
