Jacqueline L. Allen

Jacqueline Allen, 51 of Madison Heights, Virginia died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Keith Dickenson for 12 years.

Born Thursday, February 9, 1961, in Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late Alvin K. Allen and Dorothy Nicholas Allen.

In addition to her father, Jackie was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Faye Allen.

In addition to her husband, and mother, Jackie is survived by a daughter: Angie Dickenson, of Chase City, a son, William Dickenson and his wife, Danielle, of Petersburg, five grandchildren: Tyler, Brittany, Dewayne, Gracie, and Addison; seven nieces and nephews, who she considered as her children: Glenn D. Burford, Jenny Combs, David Pugh, Jr., Wendy Burks, Terri Sheppard, Kelly C. Lyons, and Kyle Cannon; three sisters: Cynthia Neighbors and her husband, Tommy, of Monroe, Susan Pugh and her husband, Dave of Madison Heights, and Lynn Cannon and her husband, Jimmy of Sparta, TN.

Jackie loved all animals, but horses were her passion. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make you laugh and find humor in everything. She knew no strangers. A compassionate care giver Jackie worked for 30 years at Central Virginia Training Center. She treated all the patients there as her kids. The family will remember Jackie as a simple country girl who loved them all.

A graveside service will be held at 11: 00 a.m., Friday January 11, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Dr. Derick Hamby officiating. The family will receive friends today, Thursday, January 10, from 7:00 m to 8:30 pm, at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights, and at other times at the residence.

The family would like to thank Dr. Halpin and the 4th floor oncology for the loving care given to Jackie while she was in their care.
