Jacqueline Oliver Turpin, 80, of Big Island, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
Jackie was born March 27, 1937 in Lynchburg a daughter of the late Cedric Oliver and Frances Anthony Oliver. Jackie worked for many years at the gift shop at the Peaks of Otter, was also a founding member of the Riverside Garden Club in Big Island and a member of Big Island Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Robbin Turpin (Linda) of Big Island, Nelson Turpin (Debbie) of Amherst, Becky Eagle (David) of Concord, Chris Turpin of Roanoke, and Jayson Turpin of Big Island, one sister Barbara Wells of Utah, three grandchildren: Jessica Maupin (Brooks), David Nelson Eagle, and Samantha Eagle (Daniel).
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Big Island Baptist Church with Pastor Don Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Big Island Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to Big Island Baptist Church.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
