Jake Randolph Goff

Jake Randolph Goff, 72, of, Big Island, died Monday, March 7, 2011. He was born March 25, 1938 in Bedford. A son of the late Thomas William Goff and Mattie Frances Tolley Goff, he was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Jake was an honest, hardworking man who had a special love for being outdoors and doing what he loved, which was cutting wood. He will be remembered as a wonderful provider for his wife and children. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was loved by all who knew him.

Jake is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rachel Virginia Martin Goff, his children; Vonda Spinner and husband George, Randy Goff and girlfriend Sarah Panter, Tracey Goff, and Kelly Eckard and husband Alan, all of Big Island, eight grandchildren, Randall Goff, Angel Goff, Hannah Eckard, Leah Eckard, Chloe Eckard, Ashlyn Cox, Isaiah Spinner, and Caleb Eckard, two brothers; Lloyd Goff and wife Kathleen of Big Island, Leroy Goff and wife Brenda of Bedford, three sisters; Peggy Orange and husband Collins of Bedford, Helen Cash of Glasgow, and Anniebell Reynolds of Honaker, WV.

The family extends a special thank you to the devoted volunteers of the Big Island and Bedford Fire Departments for their acts of kindness.
