James Andrew Martin, 98, of Lynchburg, Va., died Thursday, May 11, 2017. He was the husband of the late Louise Cofer Martin.
Mr. Martin was born Sunday, February 16, 1919 in Amherst County, Va., a son of the late Eugene W. Martin and Hattie Martin. He was a proud Bronze Star Veteran of 13 years in the U.S. Army and served our country during World War II. Mr. Martin retired form Appalachian Power Company after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Park View Methodist Church.
He is survived by his niece, Doris Brammer, Lynchburg, Va.; nephew, Robert Martin, Jr., Burke, Va.; several great-nieces and their families.
In addition to wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl E. Martin and Robert G. Martin, Sr.
A private family service will be held in honor of Mr. Martin’s life.
