James Edward Bobbitt of Lynchburg, Virginia, peacefully fell asleep in death at his residence on November 16, 2024. He was born on November 29, 1934 in Bedford County Virginia to the late Ampsie Thomas Bobbitt and Bessie Hicks Bobbitt.
James was known as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, Bluegrass music and studying and teaching the Bible. Prior to his retirement, he worked at numerous jobs as a carpenter and as an employee of Rubatex in Bedford.
He is survived by his children, Glenn Bobbitt, Brenda Hash and husband Andrew, Karen King and husband Bob, Ronald Bobbitt and wife Dorothy; grandchildren, Amanda Martin, Andrew Hash Jr, Tyler King and Tiffani Mosley; great grandchildren, Daniel M Garcia Jr, Jayme Mosley, Terra Mosley, Brookelyn Ashby, Phyllicia Mosley, Phelix Mosley, and many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis H. Bobbitt; his siblings, Freeman, Sylvia, Junior, Ray, Ernest, Jimmy, Bobby and Grant.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 3PM, December 7, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 319 Wiggington Rd, Lynchburg VA, as well as online via Zoom meeting ID – 892 4907 9724, Password - 490901
