James Bowling Tucker

James Bowling Tucker, 91, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Born August 16, 1922 in Lynchburg; he was a son the late Andrew Tucker and Rose Arthur Tucker.

 

James was a foreman with Babcock & Wilcox and a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

 

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Tucker Dowdy and a brother, Jack Tucker. James is survived by his wife Loraine Foster Tucker; daughter, June Carroll; son, Steven Darrell Tucker; sister, Frances Tucker Crowe; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  The family also wishes to thank the devoted caregivers Kim Ewers and Marilyn Bailey for their many acts of kindness.

 

Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM, Friday, June 27, 2014, at Heritage Baptist Church in the Worship Center with Dr. Gerald Kroll officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until service time at the church.
