James Cupit Woodson, 57, of Brooklyn, New York departed this life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Janice W. Fowler, Lynchburg, Virginia and Maria W. Bumbrey, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
James graduated from Heritage High School and attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He served eight years in the United States of America Navy.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502. Pastor Shirley M. Conner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Jubilee Family Development Center, 1512 Florida Avenue, Lynchburg, Virginia 24501.
Masks are to be worn inside funeral home.
Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
