James Edward Mcclung “Mac”

James Edward McClung "Mac", 72, of Lynchburg, passed away on July 25, 2010.  He was born on September 17, 1937 in Lewisburg, West Virginia to the late Leota Grogg McClung and the late Hunter McClung.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jennings W. McClung and Jimmy Harrison McClung.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janice Price McClung, two daughters, Terri Harman and Heidi Oliver and her husband, John Oliver all of Lynchburg; a son, Steven McClung and his wife, Drema McClung of Ohio; seven grandsons, Christopher Harman, Adam Harman, Hunter McClung, Cory McClung, Logan McClung, Ian Oliver and Seth Oliver and his loyal, best friend, and walking partner, Oliver, his golden retriever.

Mac attended Brookhill Wesleyan Church.  He retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service in the U. S. Air Force, including tours of duty in Vietnam.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Brookhill Wesleyan Church.  A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Horrell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA, 24501, or; Brookhill Wesleyan Church, 1043 Cifax Road, Forest, VA, 24551.
