James Edward O'Hara, Jr.

James Edward O’Hara, Jr., passed away in his home on July 7, 2018 with his loving children at his bedside. He joins his beloved wife of 50 years, Marie, and his son Michael. Jim is survived by his children, James Edward O’Hara III, Noelle and David O’Donnell, Ellie and Gabe Gonzalez, his grandchildren Shannon and Stephen Hoy, Ian Guthrie Moss, Stephen Andrew O’Donnell, and his five sisters: Rose, Patty, Peggy, Myra, and Kathie.

Jim received his degree in Civil Engineering from Pitt. He served his country in the Army reserves and the U.S. Peace Corps. He is retired from VDOT and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a long time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive Lynchburg, VA 24502. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Bedford Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24505.
