James Edwin Moorefield
James E. \"Goose\" Moorefield, 55, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, October 24, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer and his daughter Jamie.
James was born March 16, 1955 in Lynchburg, VA, a son of Othelia Davis Moorefield of Lynchburg and the late John E. Moorefield. He was the owner and operator of Moorefield Trucking and a member of Tree of Life Ministries, the National Rifle Association, and Sons of the American Legion. James was also an avid motorcyclist and a sports enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, daughter and mother, he is survived by a sister, Vickie Johnson and her husband, Clyde ("Tony"), of Lynchburg; a brother, Ricky Moorefield and his wife, Lisa, of Forest; a half-brother, and numerous half-sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of James's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Tree of Life Ministries with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Tree of Life Cemetery.
