James Eli (Jim) Knap, 87, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, December 01, 2013. He was the loving husband of Jeanne Mulderick Knap, for 64 years.
Born Tuesday, October 05, 1926 in Denver, CO, Jim was a son of the late R. Bruce Knap and the late Edith Hall Knap.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children: Catherine K. Brunschwyler and her husband, Nor, of Big Chimney, WVA, Chris Knap and his wife, Katie Hickox, of Long Beach, CA, Susan K. Wassum and her husband, Greg, of Lynchburg, Michael Knap and his wife, Selwyn, of Lafayette, CO, Andy Knap, of Charleston, WVA, and Patty Tucker and her husband, Guy, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren: Sarah Robertson and her husband, Michael, Daniel Wassum, Andrew Wassum, Evan Tucker, Allegra Tucker, and Hunter Knap.
Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. To him family and faith were the most important things in life. He always wanted the best for his family and worked hard to give his family the good life. He was very involved and interested in his grandchildren\"™s lives. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working and wine making. He loved abundantly and was loved very much in return. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at noon on Friday, December 6, 2013, at First Christian Church, 3109 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg. A celebration of Jim\"™s life will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 with the Rev. Kim Steinhorst and the Rev. Kenneth E. Burger officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park, Forest.
