James “Jim” Franklin Kuharski, 52, of Huddleston, passed away on June 22, 2016 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Houston, TX, a son of the late Leonard and Rhetta Mae Kuharski. Jim loved animals of all types. He enjoyed fostering and volunteering at the Friends of Bedford Co. Animal Shelter with his two daughters in their spare time. He served his country in the United States Navy.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Kuharski; two daughters, Vicky L. Kuharski and Elizabeth G. Kuharski; one sister, Michelle Ocampo; his mother and father-in law, Virginia and Robert Lohmeyer; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; also numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and fur babies.

A memorial service and celebration of Jim’s life will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home Bedford with Daniel Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 pm and 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2016 also at Tharp Funeral Home Bedford.
