James Garland Watts, 73, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully at Lynchburg General Hospital Saturday evening, February 22, 2014.
He was born August 22, 1940 to the late Lewis Edward Watts and the late Bertie Murray Watts Wood.
In addition to his parents Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, June Watts Brown.
He is survived by two nieces, Judy B. Smith (Gary) of Lynchburg and Dale B. Bosiger (Vic) of Forest, Va. , great niece, Megan B. Gezen (Murat) of Lynchburg, and great nephews, Landon Smith (Kristen) of Charlotte, N.C. and Logan Bosiger, of Forest. He was the proud great great uncle of Ayla, Alara, and Aydin Gezen, and Gavin Smith.
Jimmy worked for Berry & Watts Oil Co. which later became Lynchburg Oil Company delivering fuel oil and for Templeton Bros. as a truck driver for many years until his health forced him to retire.
For the last ten years he was a resident of The Carrington which he considered \"home\", and where he made many friends and received excellent care.
He was an active member of The Salvation Army when he was in good health and attended Sunday service as often as possible thereafter.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with CSM Wayne Wade and Captain Donald Dohmann officiating.
