James \”Œjim\” Walter Elder
James \"Jim\" Walter Elder age 66 of Okeechobee, FL passed away Friday, July 9. 2010. Jim was born March 8, 1944 in Lynchburg to Lewis and Mary Elder.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles, Allen and Jesse, two sisters; Alice and Barbara. He is survived by his son, Shane and special daughter-in-law, Casey. In addition he is survived by brothers; Lewis (Vadie), Steve, Mike (Lynn), two sisters; Mary Atkins (Gary) and Nancy Wilcox (Buddy). He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and families who will always cherish memories of their \"Uncle Jim.\"
The family would also like to recognize and thank Jim\"™s special friend and loving companion, Nancy Phelps and his good buddy, Bobby Gibson.
Jim loved singing and entertaining and touched many people with his songs, wit, and his compassion. The final curtain call closed for Jim on earth. His next booking is singing with the angels, the show will go on.
A celebration of life will be held for Jim at 7:00 p.m. on August 21, 2010 at the Moose Lodge #715 on Lakeside Drive. The celebration of life memorial in Okeechobee was held on Sunday, July 18, 2010 in the Shrine Club, Okeechobee, FL.
