James “Jimmy” Calvin Elder, Jr.

James “Jimmy” Calvin Elder Jr., 67, of Forest, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July, 16, 2019. He was born on November 5, 1951, in Lynchburg, the son of Ruth Wells Elder. He was a loving son, father, and grandfather.
He leaves to cherish in his memory two sons, Kevin Elder and his wife Heidi Elder of Forest, Mark Elder and his wife Kendra Elder of Lynchburg. He is survived by five grandchildren, Isaac Elder, Hadley Elder, Celeste Elder, Meadow Elder, and Kaya Atkins. Jimmy is also survived by one sibling, Patricia “Pat” Graham and spouse Kenneth Graham of Kansas City, Missouri. He leaves behind nieces and nephew Scott Graham and Sara Mathia as well as great nieces Claire Graham, Margaret “Maggie” Graham, and Corrine Mathia.
Jimmy loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He had a love for golf and many special friends at the Colonial Hills Golf Club. A celebration of life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Saturday, July, 20, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. ***
