James “Jimmy” Tyree

James \"Jimmy\" Lester Tyree, Jr., 67, of Lynchburg, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Monday, November 28, 2011 after a long battle with Parkinson\"™s disease. He was the husband of Maggie Staton Tyree.

Born August 30, 1944, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James Lester Tyree, Sr. and Estelle Gillispie Tyree.

In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Tyree.

Jimmy is survived by his only child, Thomas \"Tommy\" Wayne Tyree and his wife, Wendy; a brother: Barry Wayne Tyree and his wife, Carol and a sister, Katherine Staton of Lynchburg and many nieces and nephews.

He loved his music and playing the guitars; he retired from Montague-Betts with 24 years of service and a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Weiser officiating. The family will receive friends today, Nov. 29, 2011 from 6:00 \"" 8:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.   Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery.
