James Lewis Meadows, Jr.

d. May 30, 2021

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, James Lewis Meadows, Jr., 50, gained his wings to eternal life.

James was born on December 20, 1970, in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Mr. James. L. Meadows and Mrs. Joyce Johnson Meadows. He received his education from Bedford County Public Schools. He was employed by Golden West Foods and Bunker Hills Foods when his health failed.

James accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior where he joined Pure Gospel Holiness Church of God and was baptized. James was an encyclopedia of pop culture. He was a collector of movies, figurines, and dolls, and enjoyed listening to music and reading. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved to watch General Hospital. James was a protector of his family – giving to a fault with a heart of gold. He was the one to say, ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘Thank you’.

James leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Tracie M. Poindexter (Wayne), of Forest, VA;  Erica M. Logwood (Steve) and Tamara (Niki) Nicole Meadows, both of Lynchburg, VA; four nephews, Reginald D. Meadows, of West Hartford, CT, Brandon R. Poindexter, of Forest, VA, Desmond J. Meadows, of Lynchburg, VA, and Fernando L. Mallette, of Bedford, VA; two uncles, Clarence Meadows, of Lynchburg, VA and Edward (Soanie) Meadows, of Brooklyn, NY; six aunts, Lois Miller and Virginia Williams, both of Bedford, VA, Phyllis James, of Queens, NY, Melrose Meadows, of Brooklyn, NY, and a devoted aunt, Margaret A. Johnson, of Evington, VA, along with his cousin who was more like a sister, Kelly A. Johnson, of Evington, VA and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff of Fresenius Kidney Care in Bedford, VA, Juli Larson and Robin Fuqua of JL Support Services, and AmeriCare Plus Nursing Staff. Thank you and God Bless you all.

Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty in this

everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

every restless tossing passed

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in Heaven at last.
