James Louis Grabher
James Louis Grabher, 81 of Virginia, died Thursday, October 6, 2011. Born November 23, 1929 in New York; he is a son of the late Carl Grabher and Mary Spieler Grabher.
James served in the United States Navy; Naval Aviation from 1947 \"" 1953. He was a retired contract inspector with the New York City Housing Authority. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and was active in the Tuesday Group.
James is survived by his wife; Marguerite Grabher, children; Keith Grabher, Eric Grabher, Karen Grabher Wesley, Linore Grabher Burkard, Marie Grabher McMahon, Christine Grabher, Warren Grabher, and Diane Grabher Graziano; 23 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family asks you to consider memorial contributions to The Marist Brothers, Provincial Development, 4200 West 115th Street, Chicago, IL 60655 or Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, 4597 Warren Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
A Mass of resurrection will be held 11 am, Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Father Salvador Añonuevo officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 -7 pm, Friday, October 7, 2011, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
