James Preston Duff II, 64, of Lynchburg, formerly of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Preston Sr, and Loretta Moore Duff, and brother, Alfred Timothy Duff.
He is survived by his son, James Preston Duff III; stepdaughter, Amber Urich (Joe); brother, Thomas Ray Duff (Susan); sister, Mary Duff; sister in law, Rhonda Wilson Duff; nieces and nephews, Shawn Duff; Amanda Duff; Preston Duff (Rebecca), and Andrew Vanderheyden; Celina Crank, Lawrence Crank (Jenny) ; Che’rer Franklin and very special friend, Vicki Coleman.
Jim was a huge sports enthusiast and collector. He loved UVA basketball and football, and was an avid fan, win or lose. He bled orange and blue…..WAHOOWA!!!! He enjoyed many years of coaching little league baseball, and basketball. He was a lifetime mentor to those he coached and enjoyed staying in touch with them over the years.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

If I should go tomorrow…it would never be goodbye, for I have left my heart with you, so don’t ever cry. The love that’s deep within me, shall reach you from the stars, you’ll feel it from the heavens, and it will heal the scars.
