James Roby Wilson

James Roby Wilson, 73, of Lynchburg, VA, died Monday, February 14, 2011, in Lynchburg, after a short illness.  He was the husband of Ethel (Susie) Beverly Wilson, for 50 years.

Born Saturday, November 13, 1937 in Scott County, VA, James was a son of the late Denver Wilson and Almeda Johnson Wilson.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Donna W. Falwell, of Evington, and fiancé, J. C. Layne, James D. Wilson (Tammy), of Pittsville, VA, and Darla L. King, of Alexandria, four grandchildren, Aaron Falwell, Christopher Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Laci K. Falwell, and fiancé, Justin Fore, a great grandson, Andrew Wilson, five brothers, Ralph Wilson, Charles Wilson, Guy Wilson, and Jerry Wilson (Jeanette), and  Larry Wilson (Susan), two sisters, Lola Merkey (Carlton), and Faye Farrar (Bill), and a former son in-law, Randy Falwell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Wilson (Shirley), and Denver Wilson, Jr., and a sister, Marie Bondurant.

James grew up in Kingsport, TN. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry after 39 year\"™s service. James loved golf and was a member of Falling River Country Club and will be missed by his golf buddies there. He was of the Baptist faith.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, and at other times at the residence.  A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Wayne Hudson officiating.  Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
