James Stanley Dean

James Stanley Dean, 69, of Lynchburg, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Lois Carter Dean.

 He was born March 5, 1943, in Lynchburg, a son of the late James W. and Sybil M. Dean. Mr. Dean was a member of College Hill Baptist Church and was employed by Griffin Pipe for forty years as an electrician and retired in 2005. He was preceded in death by his brother, John G. Dean.

 In addition to his wife, Lois, he is survived by his sons, Rick Dean and his wife Gerrie of Raleigh, NC, Jeffrey Dean and his wife, Sherry of Goode, VA, a sister Dorothy D. Moseley of Lynchburg, and his beloved dog, Perla.

 A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg. The family would like to express their thanks to Centra Hospice for their support and compassion.
