James Wallace Jennings

James Wallace Jennings, 84, of Bedford, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on March 26, 1925, a son of the late Charles H. Jennings and Frances Lucile Boone Jennings. In addition to his parents Wallace was preceded in death by a brother Charles William Jennings. He loved farming, working in his garden, spending time with his family and was a very avid hunter and outdoorsman.

 Wallace was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Past Director of Southern States, Past director and member of Farm Bureau and member of Odd Fellows Lodge #204.

 Wallace is survived by his loving wife Nellie McNeely Jennings; five nieces and nephews, Charles William Jennings, Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Charlotte, NC, Ann Rita J. Jacka and her husband, Paul of Alabasta, AL, Thomas Frances Jennings and his wife, Lois of Richmond, VA, Susan J. Krantz and her husband, David of Sylvania, OH and Jonathan S. Jennings of Richmond, VA; several great-nieces and nephews.

 Memorial contributions may be to Main Street United Methodist Church, 212 E. Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523 or to the charity of your choice.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Main Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Les Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
