James Warren “Red” Harris, 93, of Forest, died on Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was the husband of the late Nellie Flood Harris.
Born in Lynchburg, on October 31, 1921, he was a son of the late John Carrington Harris and the late Elsie Dudley Harris.
Red served his country in the United States Army and then with the United States Post Office. He was a member of Rivermont Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a bowler and loved Duck Pins. After retirement he took up golf and loved that game too.
He is survived by a daughter, the Rev. Tracey Robinson-Harris of Ashby, Mass.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015, in Spring Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Makanah Morris officiating. Prior to the service the family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg from 10 until 10:30 a.m.
