James William Robertson

March 20, 1947 — January 23, 2015

James William Robertson died peacefully at Liberty Ridge Rehabilitation Center on January 23, 2015 in Lynchburg, VA at the age of 67.

James William Robertson was born on March 20, 1947 in Campbell Country, VA to the late William & Dorothy Jones Robertson.

James was preceded in death by three sisters: Doris R. Robertson, Phyllis D. Robertson & Wanda R. Jones; two brothers: Leroy Robertson & Franklin Robertson.

James William Robertson is survived by his four children: Adam A. Robertson and his devoted friend, Della, Jacqueline D. Davis, Juanita C. Robertson, & Juatina L. Robertson and her fiancé, Tom; three grandchildren: Terrance E. Robertson, Michael B. Robertson and his wife, Sarah & Tori E. Robertson; six siblings:  Mrs. Lilly Smith and her husband, Carl, Mrs. Mildred Smith and her husband, Dennis, Mr. Wilbert Robertson and his wife, Donna, Mrs. Deborah Robinson and her husband, Frank, Douglas Robertson, & David Robertson; a loving aunt Phyllis Anderson of Brooklyn, NY; & a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.

James loved his four children & three grandsons in a very unique way. His job at Archer Creek Foundry gave him great joy, as did working on & towing vehicles, watching all news programs, going to the spring to get fresh water, drinking coffee, babies with chubby cheeks, and spending time with his little dog Chip down at the river. He loved to cook and travel & loved to eat at Long John Silver’s and drink Pepsi. After his early retirement, he liked to play the lottery and driving in the snow to see what the trucks he bought were made of. Most of all, he tried to be youthful in spite of his age.

A very special thank you to Dr. Kevin Patel (Oncologist) & Staff, Lynchburg General (Oncology Dept.) & Staff, Dr. Eugene Wolanski & Staff, Liberty Ridge Rehab Center & Staff, and special friends from the Archer Creek Foundry: Harold Saunders and Robert K. Patterson.

A private service will be held for immediate family & close friends only.
