Jane Allison Hamlett, 58, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 15, 2016, at her home. She was born March 25, 1958, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. Allison and is survived by her mother, Rebecca Fizer Allison.
Jane was a graduate of Lynchburg College. She loved cooking and taking care of her animals. Most of all, she loved her family, and they loved her.
In addition to her mother, Jane is survived by her beloved husband, Richard R. Hamlett; her children: Tom Parker and his wife, Katie of Princeton Junction, New Jersey, Mary Parker Wilson and her husband, John Wilson of Salem, Mollie Parker of Roanoke; one grandchild, Joseph Mitchell “Joe” Wilson; brother, Charles M. Allison, Jr. and his wife, Ann and three nieces, Rebecca, Stefanie, and Sarah of Goode, one sister, Kate Allison Hurst and her husband, Clyde and three nephews, Clyde, Charlie, and Will of Arlington.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, Bedford, Virginia.
