Jane Elizabeth Tatum

Jane Elizabeth Tatum, 80, passed away on October 31, 2023.

Born in Rocky Mount, NC, but raised in Wilmington, NC, she lived in the loving care of her mother until 2004. Jane had intellectual disabilities and lived at L’Arche until she became physically disabled. She flourished with the loving care that her caregivers provided at Deerfield Home in Amherst.

Survived by her sister, Lynn Camache Shelton of Lynchburg, brother, Rodney Tatum (Susan) of Walkerton, VA; niece, Susan Darnell (Scot); nephew, Jeff Tatum (Lora) of Quinton, VA; great nephews, Riley Johnson (Hannah) of Forest, and Cole and James Darnell of Virginia Beach, VA.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
