Janice Gaynelle Harris Wimmer

Janice Harris Wimmer, 76, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Roanoke, on June 20, 1945. She was the oldest daughter of the late Fred Lee Harris and Audrey Easter Meador.

Janice worked in customer service for Robertson Marketing before retirement. She loved crocheting and sewing in previous years. She also enjoyed reading and listening to music, especially James Taylor and Simon & Garfunkel. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.

Janice is survived by her loving son, Don R. Wimmer, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia Spigle; two sisters, Marcia Oubre and her husband, Jay; Lynna Sloan and her husband, Roger; nephew, Chad Sloan; nieces, Rachael Sloan, Theresa Chielens and her husband, Klaas. Also surviving are numerous other friends and family, especially Victoria Shaver for much love and support in the last few years.

Memorial contributions in Janice’s memory may be made to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
