Janice Mae Burton Wynn, 52, of Clintwood, Virginia, formerly of Lynchburg, died on September 1, 2016, at her home. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Felix T. Jackson, and her uncle, Booker Dudley.
She was the loving daughter of Dorris Burton Jackson and her special friend, Billy Williams of Forest, and Raymond Burton and his wife, Jenny of Bedford.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles H. Wynn; her daughter, Holly Shackleford and her husband, Brian, and their children, Isaac and Brylee, all of Big Island; her son, Dakota, whom she adored; daughter, Malora Kilgore and her husband, David, and their children Braden and Brennen; her son, Andrew Wynn and his wife, Bonnie, and their son, James Wynn, all of Coeburn; her siblings, Ricky Lee Burton and his wife, Wanda of Texas, Danny Ray Burton of Appomattox, Tammy Rolfes and her husband, Timothy of Bedford, Tammy Cawley Johnson and her husband, Phillip of Bedford, Anita Coffey and her friend, Tee Key of Bedford, and Tom Cawley and his husband, John of Georgia; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Ashley Gail Lamm; three special nephews, Eric Lingafelter, Tim Malone, and Colton Rolfes; and two special friends, James and Lois Fields.
Janice was fun-loving, caring, outgoing, and dedicated to caring for the elderly. She was an EMT for the rescue squad in Big Island for many years. She also did a lot of community service and catering for people who served our country. Janice held an LPN degree and worked at nursing homes and Centra Health.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A celebration of Janice’s life will be held later that day at 2 p.m. at Big Island Baptist Church.
