Janice Shively Tait
Janice Irene Shively Tait, 75, of Vinton, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at her residence. Born in Akron, Ohio, on September 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Stanley David Shively and Ethel Romaine Shuler Shively.
Janice was a member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church in Vinton. She loved bowling, she was a great cook, and had a passion for playing the Piano by ear.
She is survived by a daughter, Laurie Caldwell, four step-sons, George Tait, Jr., Sam Tait, Lynn Tait, and Mike Tait; one step-daughter, Catherine Tait; two grandchildren, Jaime Sue McCorkel and her husband, David and Jeremy Caldwell and his wife, Stephanie; 7 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Bujorian and Audrey Rodgers; numerous nieces and nephews; also a special four legged friends, Little Bit.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Stewartsville Rescue Squad, 1152 Turner Branch Road, Moneta, VA 24121.
A celebration of Janice\"™s life will be conducted at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Glass officiating. The burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Vinton. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the Funeral Home. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
