Mr. Jason Joshua Randoo, devoted son and dedicated father, died on June 15, 2020 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was born in Lahoquetta Arima, Trinidad and Tobago West Indies to Mrs. Nazmeen Hightower and the late Cyril Randoo. Jason migrated to the United States in 2002 and embraced Lynchburg as his home in 2005.
Jason was educated at Arima Presbyterian School, Five Rivers Jr. Secondary School and Arima Senior Comprehensive School all in Trinidad and Tabago. He continued his post secondary education at the Virginia University of Lynchburg and Liberty University where he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree respectively.
Jason was employed as the Chief Operating Officer at the Virginia University of Lynchburg where he served dutifully for many years. He was also a soccer coach, mentor, confidant and friend to many students during his tenure at VU of L. He often provided support to students in need of extra guidance to ensure their success both academically and athletically.
Jason was truly a renaissance man. He was an accomplished entrepreneur, notable real estate investor/developer, DJ and restaurateur. Additionally, his passion for his community was unparalleled. Jason could often be found volunteering in some capacity throughout Lynchburg, most recently with One Community One Voice helping to distribute food to the most needy as a result of COVID-19. Jason’s sense of fashion was admired by many. When he showed up, his style said something without him uttering a word. He encompassed the saying “dress for the job you want, not the job you have”.
In addition to his father, Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Thelma Randoo and Roland Randoo. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, who were the apples of his eye, Kayla Stowe and Amara Randoo; his brothers, Kerwyn Randoo and Justin Randoo; his sister, Simone Randoo; his maternal grandparents Razack Baig and Saliman Hosein. his stepfather, Edward Hightower; and a host of other relatives and friends.
