Jean Carol Kubicek Miller, 90, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, September 28, 2018 at home. She was the wife of the late Ralph Raymond Miller.
Jean was born November 9, 1927, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of the late Laddie Francis Kubicek and Mary Eliza Kubicek and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Lynchburg. She had been a secretary to a lawyer, an author, and to the assistant dean of women at Ohio State University.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Brasure of Lynchburg and Patricia Shorner (Garry) of Goodview, as well as four granddaughters and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Wilma Hamilton and a brother Warren Kubicek Carter. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a source of great joy to her. Her faith was pivotal in her life.
The family will receive friends from12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Heritage Baptist Church Chapel, followed by a celebration of Jean’s life also in the Heritage Baptist Church Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
