Jean Hilton Wilson, 84, of Lynchburg passed away, Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Heritage Green. She was the wife of Robert Homer Wilson. Born March 31, 1928 in Maysville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late A. Lance Hilton and Ollie Wolford Hilton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert Hilton Wilson and wife, Ann of Lynchburg; a daughter, Catherine Wilson Day and her husband, Chris of Richmond; grandchildren, Matthew Christopher Day, Sarah Hilton Day, and Andrew Howland Day, and great-grandchild Melina Caroline Day.
For 23 years, she was a member of the library staff at Randolph-Macon Woman\"™s College. She attended the University of Arkansas and received her degree from Lynchburg College. She was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, being a 13th generation descendant of Elder Brewster of the Mayflower Pilgrims, the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Woman\"™s Club of Lynchburg, serving for many years on the Scholarship Committee. Love of family, and all elements of homemaking- cooking, decorating, needlework, and gardening; along with hobbies of genealogy, piano, travel and intellectual inquiry into \"everything\" filled her life. A person of strong Christian faith, that commitment was her guiding principle throughout a long life.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church conducted by the Rev. Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush, Jr. with interment to follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
