Jean Lockard Perrow, 90, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Royal Oaks, The Gardens in Dalton, GA. She was born July 12, 1926, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Harry Glenn Lockard, Sr. and Mattie Dunn Logan Lockard.
Jean was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church in Bedford, and taught in the Liberty High School and later was employed at Peoples Furniture in Bedford.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by four brothers, Dr. Harry G. Lockard, Jr, Ned L. Lockard, Kenneth P. Lockard and John W. “Jack” Lockard; and three sisters, Agnes L. Hurt, Louise L. Perrow, and Becky L. Wingfield.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Mike and Joyce Thompson of Forest, VA and Ned and Kim Thompson of Dalton, GA; step-son Burkley W. Perrow and his wife Deborah, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Methodist Church, 1118 Ebenezer Rd, Bedford, VA 24523.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2: 00 p.m. in Longwood cemetery.
