Jean Paul Fringer, 86, of Lynchburg, VA, died Saturday, September 06, 2014. She was the wife of Denny Lewis Fringer Jr., for 64 years.
Born Jean Shannon Paul on Wednesday, November 23, 1927 in Lynchburg, Jean was a daughter of the late Harry August Paul and the late Frances Satterfield Paul.
In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her children: Bob Fringer and wife Pam, Nancy Saunders and husband Brian, Susan Boss and husband Larry, and Mary Dellinger and husband Ed; her grandchildren: Kristin Saunders, Shannon Noe and husband Nick, Erin Saunders, Katie Boss, Libby Boss, and Cameron Dellinger; and her great-grandson, Graham Noe.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Burnett, the wife of the late Vincent “Squeek†Burnett, of Rustburg, VA.
Jean was a graduate of EC Glass High School. Jean and Denny met and married in Lynchburg. As a homemaker and in support of her husband’s career, Jean and her family lived in the Atlanta, GA area from 1961-1965 and in Cincinnati, OH from 1965-1972. After returning to Lynchburg, Jean launched a career as a successful real estate agent in the Lynchburg area for many years, retiring in 1996 from Century 21. Jean was a long time member of Peakland United Methodist Church where she served as a Stephen Minister. She also held many volunteer positions in the community over the years. Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Peakland United Methodist Church. A celebration of Jean’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. John Vest officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
