Jeffrey Clifton Hubble

July 21, 1951 — August 16, 2024

Jeffrey Clifton (Cleveland) Hubble, 73, of Appomattox, Virginia passed into the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, August 16, 2024. Born in Youngstown, Ohio on July 21, 1951, Jeff was a son of the late Mildred Curd Hubble and Simon “Dee” Hubble, Sr.

Jeff attended Western Reserve High School in Berlin Center, Ohio before moving to Rustburg, Virginia where he enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends at the family home place, “Hub’s Hollar.” Jeff enjoyed dancing, music, his beloved pets, watching wrestling, westerns, and above all Cleveland Indians baseball.

After moving to Appomattox in 2000, he became an avid fan of the Appomattox Raiders football team and was always in the crowd cheering them to victory under the Friday night lights. After over 20 years of hard work and dedication, he retired from the Town of Farmville and was always so proud of his work there. Jeff attended Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church where he loved greeting his church family and volunteering with the Helping Hands Outreach Ministry.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by two brothers, Simon Hubble, Jr., and Patrick Hubble, Sr. and a nephew, Simon Hubble. He is survived by his two sisters; Barbara (Bill) Briggs and Simone (Randy) Manis, both of Appomattox and one brother, Tom (Darlene) Hubble, of Lake Milton, Ohio. Jeff took great pride in his many nieces and nephews; Simone (Jeff) Woolard, Sabrena Hubble, Patrick (Bridget) Hubble, Debra (Dave) Mann, Tim Briggs, Ted (Vicky) Briggs, Tracy (Bob) Brock, Randi (Wil) Childress, and Erica (Nate) Blust, as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many special cousins who were more like siblings, all of which he loved dearly. Jeff’s joyful spirit and constant kindness will be missed by all that knew him.
