Jennifer L. Downey Vasser

Jennifer Downey Vasser, 53, of Big Island, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018. She was born in Big Island, VA on July 31, 1964. She is the daughter of James Edward Downey, Jr. and Patricia Ramsey Downey.

Jennifer was a very loving and compassionate woman. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening, planting flowers, camping, playing music and spending time with her family and friends. Jennifer was very artistic in many ways, but most of all in building fairy houses. She was loved by so many and will be missed greatly by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her loving husband, Hubert V. Vasser; three children, Nathan Vasser and his wife, Danielle, Keri Brooks, and James Vasser; one step-daughter, Melissa Oliver; six grandchildren, Chance, Mason, Hayden, Greason, Hope and Gunner. Also so many friends

The family will receive friends for fellowship from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford. Tharp Funeral Home Bedford is assisting the family.
