Jerry Monroe Barringer

Jerry Monroe Barringer, 79, of Forest, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Mildred Barringer for 59 years.

 

Jerry was born Monday, April 10, 1933 in Albermarle, North Carolina, the son of the late Howard Barringer and the late Mary Pauline Hatley Barringer.

 

He was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church and retired from General Electric/Ericsson. Jerry served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Marty Barringer and wife, Sheri of Bedford, Scott Barringer and wife, Nancy of Fredericksburg, a \" daughter\", Janice Gardner and husband, Ronnie of Knoxville TN., four grandchildren, David, Jordan, Stacy and Joan Barringer, also a host of friends.

 

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Forest Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Morgan Whitfield officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
