Jessica Echols

Jessica Dawn Echols was born on April 10, 1982, in Lynchburg, a daughter of her father Tim Echols (wife Janice) of Huddleston, and her mother Lisa Shortt (husband Randall) of Rustburg. Jessica was a gifted and professional hairdresser by trade, an avid animal lover, and touched the lives of all who knew her.

Jessica was a graduate of Brookville High School and Sweet Briar College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Molecular Biology and Chemistry.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Rylan Skye Fields, of Lynchburg, a sister, Tonya Echols Hart (husband Donnie) of Midlothian, and a niece, Ella Hart. She had many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.

A Celebration of Jessica’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Sarah Hemberger officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Union Church Cemetery in Montvale, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society in her memory.
