Jillian Marlene Cheresnowsky-Yeager III, 39 of Roanoke VA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 16th. Born April 13, 1981, she was the daughter of Penny Morrison and David Cheresnowsky.
Jillian graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 200 and went on to complete some college. This was followed by a 16-year career with Wachovia and through the transition to Wells Fargo. With Wells Fargo she found her calling or the calling in of others found her in the customer call center. Jill loved her career and her extended family that the company placed in her life.
On November 11, 2010, she married John Allen Yeager III and proceeded to welcome her two precious children into this world and found motherhood suited her well. Jill’s role as wife and mother was a gift. She suffered many unsuccessful romances but held true to her stubbornness and found love. It was joyous to see her meet her match, and in that produced two lively, lovely, and beautiful children who she and John Allen have worked hard to raise them as strong, independent, and loving humans and a great job has been done.
Jillian was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and employee who frequented Starbucks as a past time. She had a tow the line attitude but was always giving, loving and forgiving and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jill was AKA the “Grammar Nazi” and the “Car Seat Nazi” and was frequently known to publicly admonish those who spelled incorrectly or used poor grammar on social media, as well as publicly shaming those on social media who did not place their child in the car seat correctly with the most famous being Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, she was always willing, ready, and able to teach a new parent how to install and use the car seat correctly in the hopes of saving a child’s life.
Jillian was nicknamed Jilly Bean in childhood, and it was a nickname that followed her throughout her life and was used by those who loved her. An additional and more frequent nickname also used as a term of endearment was “Bitch” and I can hear her now saying “you say that like it’s a bad thing”. She earned this nickname as she was quick to speak her mind with her quick wit and sharp tongue. This was always coupled with her unending love and she loved everyone.
Jill always adopted strays be they cats, dogs, or most often people. Her family consisted of more than blood as she gave freely the love, she had to everyone she met and once she loved you, you were her family forever. She could beat you bloody with criticism if you failed to see her reality that she lived but she would never stop considering you her family or loving you like family. Her religious beliefs were in line with Karma. She was tough but truly soft. While she never judged a book by the cover, but instead read each chapter through and judged throughout for herself she never missed the opportunity to reach out to the underdog who needed a friend.
Jillian’s passions and interests included but never limited to puzzles, reading, music, all family things, and just being herself. She would tackle any problem head-on and try to fix it at all costs and she was good at it. If there was a solution, she was going to find it even if it caused her grief. Her swimming pool is a great example as she hated the amount of work it required but she was the only one allowed to take care of it “as it’s the only way it gets done right” as she tells it.
A recounting of many stories from all who knew our Jilly Bean could never accurately portray the wholeness of the strong, capable, and beautiful woman Jillian was. Her passing has caused grief so deep amongst so many. That grief tells so strongly of how deeply she was held in the hearts of each of us who were truly blessed to know her. From mere meetings, those who knew her months to those who knew her years Jillian Marlene Cheresnowsky-Yeager iii will forever be in our memory as the bright, beautiful, and bold woman that was always herself; even as she left this world, so we can simply say “thank you” to the woman who gave us so much……
