Jimmy Lee Bobbitt

Jimmy Lee Bobbitt, 85, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born in Bedford to the late Ampsie Thomas Bobbitt and Bessie Lee Bobbitt.

Jimmy worked for 40 years at Rubatex as a Maintenance Mechanic. He had a love for Bluegrass music and loved to play the banjo. Jimmy’s favorite place to go eat was Golden Corral.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Monnie C. Bobbitt; son, Roger Lee Bobbitt and wife, Aileen; brother, James Bobbitt; sister-in-law, Louise Bobbitt and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Tharp Funeral Chapel, Bedford with the Rev. Ray Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at Leftwich Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
