Jimmy Loyd Settles

Jimmy Loyd Settles, 80, of Moneta, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.  Jimmy was born on July 25, 1943, in Bedford, VA.  He was the son of the late Clarence Edward Settles and Margaret Marie Nester Settles.

Jimmy retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad.  In previous years he enjoyed going to the beach and fishing with family and friends.   In most recent years, he enjoyed working on the farm and spending time with his family and his Boston terrier, Katie.   He also attended services at Saunders Grove Church of the Brethren in Moneta with his wife, Nancy.

Jimmy is survived by his two sons, Jeff Settles (Debbie) and Mark Settles (Jalenda); five grandchildren, Candice Ballinger (Jimmy), Brandon Settles, Cameron Settles, Dylan Settles, and Danielle Settles; one great grand-child, Aria Ballinger; one sister, Linda Carter. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy Settles; two sisters, Patsy Albert and Mary Campbell; and two brothers, Dickie Settles and Gary Settles.
