Joan Keys Harper, born on December 15, 1932 in Williamsport, PA, departed this earth on February 27, 2011 in Ruckersville, VA. She was the wife of the late Gary Lewis Harper, Sr. and daughter of the late James S. and Arie Thompson Keys.
Joan was selfless and beloved by all who knew her. She and Gary enjoyed a wonderful relationship; a true love story and she was the strength that bonded her family.
Joan and Gary had four children, Karen H. Eisenman and her husband, David, Stacy H. Morrison and her husband, Scott, Carrie Beth Harper and Gary L. Harper, Jr. and his wife, Lucinda; four grandchildren, Sarah Steadman and her husband, Darren, Rebecca Eisenman, Lee G. Harper and William L. M. Harper.
Joan had a beautiful family with caring siblings. She was preceded in death by sisters, Beverly K. Kuhns and Mildred \"Louise\" Wurster. Joan is survived by siblings James W. Keys and his wife, Virginia, Ruth K. Lucas and husband, Jack, Dorothy \"Dot\" K. Prange, Arie K. Hammers and her husband, David, and Robert \"Butch\" S. Keys and his wife, Marilyn; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and Eldon Kuhns and his wife, Ann. They were so fortunate to have her, and she them.
A Family gathering will be held at a later date in the spring to honor Joan and her ashes will be placed with Gary.
